Adoption gives a dog the thing the shelter cannot give: a real home. If you cannot adopt, you can still help them get closer to one.
The strongest help: adopt
If you live near Šabac, your time can change a dog’s day. If you can offer a home, it can change their life.
Help on site
Help is urgently needed in Šabac: walking dogs, taking photos, collecting profile information, supporting visits and noticing when a dog needs attention. Vesna, Pravo na život and the small volunteer group cannot carry this alone.
Foster
Offer a temporary home. Some dogs open up only when they leave the noise of the shelter for a while. Foster homes also help adopters understand how a dog behaves in a home.
Adopt
The most direct help is still adoption. Come to the shelter, meet a dog and adopt when the match is right. The shelter should be a stopover, not a lifetime address.
How donations help
Donations go through Strays e.V. and support practical needs: food, veterinary care, sterilisation and the profile work that helps dogs become visible to adopters.
About €10: food for one dog for a week
A small donation can cover a week of food for one dog while they wait for a home.
About €50: vaccination support
Vaccination is part of responsible adoption preparation. Donations help cover these costs when a dog is being prepared for a home.
About €65: sterilisation support
Sterilisation prevents more abandoned puppies and helps reduce the pressure on the shelter in the long term.
Strays e.V. is a registered charity (Finanzamt Köln-Süd, Germany). Donation receipts are issued on request – include your address in the transfer reference.
